Xflow AI Error Codes Explanation

  1. “Cleanup failed. Please check that the input file has proper triangle geometry, then resubmit the file.” – After processing, Xflow AI applies a set of operations to ensure compatibility with 3D printers. Common reasons for this error are extreme artifacts and pre-processing of the raw STL file before submission to Xflow AI.
  2. “Too many non-manifold geometry. This can be caused by excess artifacts or sharp edges near the molars. Please check that the input file is a valid and regular dental arch with minimal artifacts, then resubmit the file.” – After cleanup, Xflow AI checks for manifoldness, and if the cleanup process was successful in removing non-manifold geometry. If there is too much non-manifold geometry, there will often be issues with 3D printing. This is a common error, as even only one problem with the mesh geometry will trigger this.
  3. “Scan quality too low after cleanup. Please check that the input file is a valid and regular dental arch, then resubmit the file.” – After cleanup, Xflow AI checks for the integrity of the final output. If too much material has been removed as a result of our cleanup operations, this error is returned.
  4. “File size must be larger than 1.5 MB for basing, received file of size MB” – Most files we process are around 10-15MB. Files less than 1.5MB always correlate to either a partial scan or a scan of extremely poor quality, so we reject anything below this threshold.
  5. “Detected pre-based mesh. Cannot process unless the file is submitted before another base is added.” – Xflow AI only applies to our base if there are no existing bases on the input model. See our troubleshooting document for more information.
  6. “Input file could not be oriented. Make sure the file contains a valid arch.” – This error occurs when an arch is submitted with extreme artifacts or enough missing teeth that it affects the shape of the arch too much to be processed.
  7. “Arch shape was not recognized; could not detect enough teeth to process or detected pre-based input. Please check your input and submit again.” – This error occurs when an arch is submitted with extreme artifacts or enough missing teeth that it affects the shape of the arch too much to be processed.
  8. “Not enough teeth detected to process.” – For full arch processing (ABR, Auto Base, Trimpath) we require 6 or more teeth to process. If less than 6 teeth are detected, this error is returned.
